Faith Connections Welcome Events

Greetings from your Faith Formation Committee

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”  Hebrews 11:1

Raising a child of any age takes a village of committed individuals who love and support those who are starting out or continuing on this journey called life. Grace United can be that village serving those in our community, both within and outside our walls in keeping with our Core Values and using Principles. However, the Faith Formation and Development team cannot do this alone without your help.

Your committee is embarking on this journey with you as we explore new ways of reaching out to each other and those we do not know. This means not only looking at the younger generation, but also exploring opportunities that will facilitate learning and growth within our church committees and the wider congregation.

We encourage you to invite your grown children and families to come and share their thoughts and challenges about life and faith issues in a secular world. Also, if you have friends who would be interested in joining us, please extend a warm invitation to attend one of the following available times. We want to listen, learn and develop a path forward together.

Our first request is to invite you to attend our “Faith Connections Welcome Event”

The Faith Formation Committee is offering three different options that you can select for getting together.

Monday, April 17th from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM which will be held in person

Wednesday, April 19th, 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM which will be held in person and on ZOOM.

Saturday, April 22nd from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM which will be held in person.

We will be discussing the follow topics:

  • Identify individual and family challenges/ concerns that hinder participation and learning.
  • Explore strategies/ approaches for reaching and welcoming all that are inside/ outside the church to participate in faith formation opportunities.
  • Discuss other ways that the committee can nurture, educate, and support faith development within the church and facilitate intergenerational leadership opportunities.
  • Answer the call to share your time, talent, and passion with the team to create faith activities and opportunities that will support new beginnings.

At our recent Board retreat the topic of renewal and growth was frequently mentioned.

Should we ever stop growing and seeking ways to be better disciples of Jesus Christ? If you answered no to this question, then we have a place at the table for your contribution.

As your Faith Formation Committee, we look forward to sharing this time with you and being engaged in work that is vital to all who are the beloved of God.

Please let Contact the church office at 905 335 0090orby email at office@GraceUnitedChurchBurlington.com by Tuesday, April 11th or sooner!

Also, please let us know if you will be attending by ZOOM as we will send you a link via email.

Please note: Refreshments and childcare will be available to energize our time together as we continue to move forward.

Blessings to you all,

Keith (Co-chair), Donna (Co-chair), and Richard (Minister).
