Grace has a piano that’s grand,

With Michael – as maestro – in command

But it can’t stay in tune

Needs replacing real soon,

And now we must come – hat in hand.

Grace’s beloved piano, upon which Michael tickles the ivories each Sunday, needs to be retired and replaced.  Anonymously donated, this musical gem has served worshippers well for over 25 years.  However, it is now time to say “so long, farewell … ”.

The search for a replacement is ongoing in earnest.  A variety of options are under consideration that will best suit the musical needs of Grace moving forwards.  The anticipated cost is in the order of $45,000 (including tax). 

Currently, Grace has the following funds: 

$20,000 – 2022 NELSON ENDOWMENT FUND

$10,000 – DONATION FROM ST. STEPHEN LEGACY FAMILY

$ 7,500 – 2023 ST. STEPHEN ENDOWMENT FUND

                   (WILL MATCH CONGREGATIONAL DONATIONS UP TO $7,500)

An additional $7,500+/- is needed.  The economic downturn of 2022 resulted in no interest income from the Nelson Endowment Fund for 2023 Property projects.  As a result, Grace is launching a direct financial appeal to its members for donations to fund this capital acquisition.  Think of it this way – a piano has 88 keys – 52 white and 36 black – that’s $85.22 per key – to get us to $7,500 – but any and all donations are welcome and needed in order to secure a new music instrument(s) in short order.
