Grace United Church, a congregation of The United Church of Canada in Burlington, ON, is seeking a First Third Minister to champion our ministry with children, youth, and young families. This is a unique part-time (30 hours/week), one-year contract opportunity to make a significant impact within a collaborative team environment.

The Opportunity:
As our First Third Minister, reporting to the Lead Minister, you will:
- Cultivate Spiritual Growth: Develop and lead creative, engaging programs and worship experiences that nurture the faith formation and discipleship of children (0- Grade 5), youth (Grades 6-12), and young families.
- Build Community: Foster meaningful connections and relationships among young people, families, and the wider congregation.
- Empower Leaders: Collaborate with and support dedicated volunteers, equipping them for ministry and creating leadership opportunities for youth.
- Live Our Values: Ensure all programming reflects Grace United’s progressive theology, affirming vision, and commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces (adhering strictly to Duty of Care policies).
- Connect Faith & Action: Help youth explore discipleship through service and engagement with the wider world.
Who You Are:
- A lay person with background, training, and interest in children.
- A relational and creative individual with a clear calling to ministry with children, youth, and young families.
- Comfortable and aligned with the theology, ethos, and polity of The United Church of Canada, particularly within a progressive and Affirming context.
- An effective communicator (including digitally) and collaborative team player.
- Flexible, adaptable, and bring energy and enthusiasm to ministry development.
- Committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and engaging faith environments.
