Earth Week Project

Tansley’s Clean Up event will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd from 9-noon at Tansley Woods Park, located off Kilmer Drive. The team will meet at 9 in the parking lot adjacent to the park and accessed from Kilmer.

Would you like to help the Earth by taking action during Earth Week?

BurlingtonGreen, a local not-for-profit environmental organization, is launching its annual Clean Up/Green Up event beginning on Earth Day, April 22nd.

During the week of April 22nd, volunteer clean-up teams from all over Burlington will be collecting litter from parks, schoolyards, fields, greenspaces and business and church properties. Team registration is now open, and litter bags will be supplied by BurlingtonGreen. More information can be found on BurlingtonGreen’s website at www.burlingtongreen.org.

If you are interested in forming a Tansley Clean Up Team and helping out this year, please contact Jane Jenner by email at jane.jenner@bell.net or by phone at 905-335-9796, or talk to Jane after church during fellowship time. Some advance planning will be needed to select a clean-up site and organize our team, so please speak up as soon as possible if you’re interested. And you know the old saying “many hands make light work”? This should only need a few hours of your time, and the more the merrier!

More details about the separate Green Up tree planting event which will take place at Brant Hills Park on Saturday May 4th are also available on BurlingtonGreen’s website. Registration for this is on an individual basis, but it would be fun to have a group of Tansley volunteers planting trees together.

Let’s reach out to our community, keep litter out of our waterways, and enjoy some time together in the fresh air this spring by making Tansley a part of this local eco-action!
